I work in Facilities and Safety. I am available to talk to you about anything you want. Many Professionals think that just because they talk to their Union representative that there is going to be some sort of action taken. I will never take on an issue unless you want me to. In most cases your concerns can be handled by talking to me or Darryl Wood, our Labor Relations Specialist. In some cases if you agree, we will sit down with Lisa Wenck and discuss your situation. Together we can work through just about any situation.
I have worked with Management on some key issues like Promotion and salary increases. I do also handle other issues that somehow come my way, like Parking issues, who can bring who to the end of the year party, and other pressing issues that push your hot button. I am not a trained counselor, but I listen well , have raised 3 kids, and still have my sanity.
I have worked with at least 5 professionals to get an increase in sarary, based on a permanent and significant increase in their duties and responsibilities.
There were some concerns regarding the extent professionals are requried to do fund raising (not part of thier performance program) and these concerns have been addressed.
I get monthly reports on who has overdue evaluations, and try to address this issue.
