Jeri Anne Jerminario, Vice President for Professionals
Veterans who know their way around SUNY Oneonta value Jeri as a UUP Oneonta Professional Delegate, with across the board responsibility, and SICAS Center stalwart. At the SICAS Center, Jeri, provides remote Banner database support to campuses that contract for SICAS Remote DBA Services. She installs Banner upgrades, patches, and provides backup Banner support to other campuses. However, not everyone knows that Jeri served, with distinction, as UUP Cobleskill Chapter President during a challenging passage in its history.
Jeri remains an iconic figure in the annals of Cobleskill. She served as Cobleskill Vice President for Professionals under future State UUP President Fred Kowal. And Jeri was good enough to follow Fred Kowal as Cobleskill Chapter President when Fred, for a time, returned to the ranks, As Cobleskill Chapter President, Jeri gained immeasurable experience dealing with a tremendous range of Professional, Academic, full-time, and contingent issues. Presiding at Chapter, Executive Board, and Labor-Management meetings; leading Cobleskill’s delegation at the Delegate Assembly; overseeing production of Unity, the Cobleskill newsletter; coordinating the representation of individual members with the Grievance Officer and Labor Relations Specialist; and sundry other responsibilities, Jeri did an excellent job.
When Jeri transferred professionally to Oneonta in 2004, it provided a boost to both to the College and the Chapter. Over the past dozen years, Jeri, offering an innovative perspective, has proved integral to the operation of UUP Oneonta. As a Professional Delegate, she has served ably in the deliberations of the Chapter Executive Board. She has participated in benchmark Oneonta Labor-Management and Chapter meetings. Jeri has represented UUP on the SUNY Oneonta Employee Assistance Program (EAP). Her Sentinel articles are notable for their clarity, information, and significance. In addition to her role as a voting representative of the Delegate Assembly, Jeri was selected to serve on two important State UUP committees, Solidarity and Tech Sector.
Beyond her considerable employment and union achievements at two UUP/SUNY campuses, Jeri plays a substantive and active role in the community. Her affiliations include the Oneonta Business Woman’s Club and the local Elks Club. During baseball season, Jeri is a “summer mom” for Oneonta Outlaw players.
